INSTRUCTORS & STUDIO STAFF
Catherine (Casey) Baird & Forrest Burke-Moran, Owners & Instructors, have collectively been with the Fred Astaire Dance Studios of New England for ten years and are currently wrapping up their first year in business in the Plymouth location.
Casey began dancing at the age of seven and fell in love with ballroom while in college. She graduated with her B.A. in psychology and also obtained her M.B.A., but after five years as a marketing and public relations professional, she chose to switch gears and make a career out of her passion for dance. She has been a successful FADS New England instructor and competitor since 2004 and is thrilled to now call the FADS Plymouth studio her own.
Bitten by the performance bug at an early age, Forrest was just four years old when he began singing on stage by himself. At 19, the Glastonbury, Conn. Fred Astaire Dance Studio welcomed him to their team when he decided to broaden his artistic interests to include dancing. For the next six years his love for dancing continued to grow, and in April 2008 he and Casey took their passion for teaching dance to a whole new level when they opened the FADS Plymouth studio.
Christina Perry, Instructor, has always been active in the arts as a violinist in the Longwood Symphony Orchestra and as a self-described show tunes and Broadway musical geek, but discovered her true passion, ballroom dancing, after attending a Fred Astaire Dance Studio Guest Party. She excelled so quickly and was so inspired by all that dancing had to offer that she gave up her full-time career as a nurse practitioner teaching student nurses to become a full-time ballroom dance instructor teaching student dancers. She joined FADS Plymouth in the summer of 2008 and has been one of the region’s most successful instructors ever since.
Bonnie Nagle, Instructor, is a born competitor who has always excelled in various physical activities including gymnastics as a child and fitness training as a young adult. She has always been fascinated by movement and the human form, and even majored in biology / pre-med while in college. She began ballroom dancing as another form of physical activity and ended up falling in love with the art of dance. She was offered a position at FADS Plymouth in late 2008. |
